The following 4 mountain lake photos have been taken in the french Alps in the sunny Provence.

The artificial lake Lac de Chaudanne on the river Verdon is situated above Castellane.

The Verdon above Castellane is called Haut-Verdon. Below Castellane it is the Moyen-Verdon that enters the Grand-Canyon of the Verdon.

After flowing through the canyon and another artificial lake, the Lac de Ste-Croix, it becomes the Bas-Verdon. Two further artificial lakes, the lac de Quinson and the lac de Gréoux dam it up before it flows into the river Durance.
