The following 6 Halloween wallpapers with carved pumpkins also called jack-o'-lanterns have been specially designed for our visitors as Halloween 2007 approaches. Halloween or Hallowe'en is also called All Hallows Eve and All Saints Eve since it is celebrated on the 31 October, the day before All Saints Day.

Halloween has its origin in the Pagan festival Samhain, (Irish : Oíche Shamhna, Old Irish : Samain, Scottish Gaelic : Oidhche Shamhna) which was already celebrated more than 2000 years ago by the Celts of Ireland and by the Scots. This tradition has been brought to North America in the XIXth century and brought back to several countries of Western Europe at the end of the XXth century.

On Halloween night, adults and children dress up as ghosts or witches. Houses are decorated with carved pumpkins or turnips that look like scary faces and lights are placed inside the carvings. In Ireland fireworks are set off.
