The following 10 photos of the Rhine have been taken in Basle, Switzerland.

Basle (Basel) is situated in the north-west of Switzerland near the border with France and Germany.

The Rhine flows towards the west before Basle and towards the north after passing Basle where it takes a quite 90 degrees curve. The source of the Rhine in the Alps is very close to the source of the Rhone but they follow different targets, the Rhine ending in the North Sea in the Netherlands.

In Basle, 5 bridges are crossing the Rhine, the oldest one being the middle bridge that is on some of our wallpapers.

The 2 last photo wallpapers of the Johanniter bridge at dusk and by night, have been taken on the eve of the 1st August, Swiss National Holiday, with a lot of people waiting for the firework.
