Setting up a wallpaper under Mac OS

Fast method to install a wallpaper

With some browsers, you just need to click on the wallpaper image with the right mouse button and select

set as wallpaper

But some browsers do not have this option and in some cases the option exists but doesn't work. Below are the proper wallpaper installation methods for the Mac OS operating systems.

Detailed method to install a wallpaper under Mac OS

Mac OS 7.x or lower

This operating system has no native support for desktop wallpaper. To install a wallpaper, you will need a third party program.

Mac OS 8

Once you did save your elected wallpaper picture on your hard-disk,
- Go to the

Apple menu

and select the

Control Panel

.
- Select

Desktop Pictures

.
- Click on the

Picture

tab.
- Click on the

Remove Picture

button to remove your old wallpaper if you already had one.
- Click on the

Select Picture

button.
- Choose the folder and the filename of the wallpaper image you did save previously.
- Click on the

Set Desktop

button and close the window.

Mac OS 8.5 or 9

Once you did save your elected wallpaper picture on your hard-disk,
- Go to the

Apple menu

and select the

Appearance

- Click on the

Desktop
