Mimizan is situated in the french south-west region 'Les Landes', between Arcachon and Biarritz on the Atlantic coast.

The coast between Arcachon and Biarritz is characterized by its dunes and the pine-wood behind the dunes. High waves can sometimes be observed here, even if it's not the Pacific Ocean!
