The following 6 photos of the Sanctuaries inside of Our Lady of Lourdes have been taken in Lourdes. Lourdes is situated in the Pyrenees in the south of France.

The Crypt, 120 seats, is the first construction that has been built in response to the request Bernadette Soubirous received from the Holy Virgin Mary. It has been built from 1862 to 1866, a few years after the visions of Bernadette in 1858.

The Basilica of the Immaculate Conception on top of the rock above the grotto of Massabielle, 550 seats, has been built between 1866 and 1872.

The Basilica of the Rosary with a capacity of 1500 people, has been built between 1883 and 1889 and consecrated in 1901.

Finally in 1958, the underground Basilica Saint Pius X with a capacity of 25000 people, has been inaugurated by Cardinal Roncalli, the later Pope John XXIII, to celebrate the centenary of the apparitions.

Lourdes, one of the major places of pilgrimage in the world and the first in France, attracts 6 millions of pilgrims and tourists every year.
